Sunny but wet day in Grizedale

Late last night got a text off our friend Malcolm seeing if we fancied a ride round Grizedale.  It just so happened we were both off and no plans so we meet up in Blind lane car park.  We had a brief talk about a route and we came to the decision to make it up as we went along the route. The route was - from the car park we headed over to Satterthwaite then a wet muddy climb up Breasty Haw down the other side and through the hole in the wall.  Next Malcolm showed us some new cheeky trails in Dumbarton wood, from here we head up to far Sawrey onto the BW then before we hit the lake took a trail to the right that took us to th ferry.  We contoured along the lake to the BW on the left and climbed back to where we were about 30 mins ago. At the top we rode along to the cobbles and lunch.  After lunch we headed on to Hawkshead, up walkers ground to meet up with the north face trail until we could leave it and get onto tittys track.  From the bottom of TT we headed across to Moor lane down this and back to the car. Unfortunately half way down Moor lane I lost gears due to a snapped cable and was glad this happened near the end.  Good day out, great weather and just a bit wet under foot.
